Rolex Datejust Ref. 1600 with the automatic 1560 calibre movement approx. 42 hours of power reserve and a rare variant Buckley dial.
This watch was recently serviced and is all original with the correct 55 end links, and untouched (and quite rare with the gold crown) Buckley dial. Lots of meat on the lugs indicates this really hasn't been over-polished like many Rolexes of this era tend to be. It comes with an original (non-matching) Rolex box, no papers.
The serial dates this watch to 1969.
Case diameter is 36mm without crown and about 38mm including. This measures 44.2mm lug to lug with a 20mm lug width, 12mm thick and an original bracelet showing some stretch that will accommodate a wrist size of up to 7-5/8" quite comfortably.
This 16xx series debuted in the 50s and is arguably one of the most recognizable of the Rolex brand. This series carried on for about two decades of production in a variety of styles of cases, dials, and bezels. The 36mm datejust is a solid choice for anyone to add to their collection no matter the wrist size. It is elegant and wears quite well.
