The first generation Omega X-33 also known as the “Mars Watch”, the X-33 was designed for the possibility of man landing on the red planet. It took five years of collaborative development between OMEGA and the world’s major space agencies, as well as the USN “Blue Angels” and the USAF “Thunderbirds”. With its futuristic design, it was worn on board NASA’s space shuttles and the Russia MIR Space Station.
This impressive quartz movement features a mixture of displays. Firstly, there is an analogue inclusion for the hour, minute and seconds display, and then a ring-shaped digital display for a second full set of functions. As it was created with the assistance of American and European astronauts, some of those functions include the elapsed time for a mission duration of up to 1000 days, as well as strong lighting thanks to an electroluminescent foil.
The X-33 was issued to NASA astronauts and has been to the International Space Station!
