Up for sale is a rare bird, a GP90 Worldtimer. With a rotating uni-directional bezel indicating major cities around the world, a rotating inner 12-hour chapter ring, this is a fantastic take and one of the earlier world timers out there. This is the Girard Perregaux Ref. GP90 World Timer Model 1010, from approximately 1990.
Fitted with a GP 225-967 Automatic movement with approximately 40 hours of power reserve this watch is 38mm in diameter excluding the crown, 40mm including with a lug to lug measurement of 45mm, 20mm lug width and thickness of 9.4mm this is a well-proportioned and striking dress watch. Fitted on it's original gloss black alligator strap that is in fantastic shape, other gold accents throughout the watch really dress it up.
The complicated and varying designs and competing shapes and colors are evident throughout this piece. From the lovely pyramidal shape of the hobnail guilloché on the inner part of the white dial with brushed silver rings for the background of the Roman and Arabic numerals, for the hour markers and the rotating chapter ring numbers. The slight tones of gold accenting the steel. And my favorite part, to the blue'd Breguet-style hands.
This watch has had a recent full disassembly, cleaning and service and features a 2-year warranty!
